Town staff presented proposed amendments to the fiscal-year budget during the Oct. 20 work session and highlighted several line-item changes that increased the projected expenditures.
The presentation noted an additional roughly $30,000 for audit fees and an increase in legal-fee appropriations from about $50,000 to approximately $94,005.13. Staff said workers' compensation allocations for some departments (notably public works) will increase and that the town is revising internal allocation formulas. Town staff said some of the additional expenses will be funded with carryover revenue and other operating adjustments and recommended moving the amended budget forward for adoption at the Nov. 3 legislative meeting. Commissioners signaled consensus to bring the amended budget and related public hearing to the Nov. 3 session for formal adoption.
