Commissioners approve Safe Streets consultant agreement; transcript shows conflicting contract figure

Commissioners voted to approve a consultant agreement with Ayers Associates of Cheyenne to complete the Safe Streets for All safety-action plan and authorized the chair to sign the agreement.

Staff (Jamie) said the work will begin with a kickoff meeting and a largely desktop data-gathering phase using GIS data and traffic counters over several months before model recommendations are prepared. “We will have a kickoff meeting here in the next couple of weeks, and then we'll define that. So we haven't set a plan of how we start evaluating or gathering data… they're gonna go in, grab the GIS data… we're gonna set up traffic counters and start gathering data over the next many months,” Jamie said.

The staff presentation included a dollar figure earlier in the report; the motion that followed recorded a substantially different, likely garbled, number when the mover read the contract amount aloud. The staff presentation text includes $11,354,500 as the consultant amount; a subsequent motion transcript line lists an inconsistent, much larger figure. The transcript contains that discrepancy and commissions approved the consultant agreement at the meeting.
