Consent agenda: The council approved the consent agenda, which included—among other items—Ordinance 02026-36 (site‑specific amendments and major amendment to the PUD for Lot F‑6 in Cantera, 4100 Cantera Drive), Resolution R2026-43 (first amendment to a contract with Compass Minerals America Inc. for rock salt at $74.33 per ton), Resolution R2026-44 (professional services agreement with Vanderwall and Associates for Illinois Route 59 corridor planning), and several expenditure listings (P‑card purchases for May 2026 of $17,276.84; invoices paid through 06/24/2026 of $362,024.93; and invoices due on or before 07/07/2026 of $470,436.24). The minutes of the June 15, 2026 regular meeting were also approved.
Monument sign professional services: The council directed staff to prepare a resolution to enter a professional services agreement with RVI (formerly Hitchcock Design Group) for design, permitting and construction oversight of a replacement city monument sign near the Maple Hill subdivision. The professional services agreement would not exceed $7,750; the FY27 budget includes $50,000 for sign design and construction. The council voted in favor of directing staff to bring the resolution.
City prosecutor appointment: Chief Bonilla recommended Attorney Heather Ryan to serve as city prosecutor beginning August 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027; staff said proposed fees match the current contract. The council directed staff to present a resolution to formalize the appointment.
