Crisfield council extends wastewater project credit by two years; resolution approved

The council approved Resolution No. 495 to modify an existing line of credit with Hebron Savings Bank (loan reference HSB 1289705), extending the loan maturity from Dec. 31, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2027, to allow completion of wastewater improvements.
City staff explained that the Hopkins and Rubber Street lift-station projects remain under construction and that USDA will disburse loan funds after project completion; the extended line of credit provides interim cash-flow support. "This allows you to have some cash in hand to be able to use that, and any interest that this bears is also reimbursable by USDA," Jason said.
Jason said the completion timeline has slipped into April–May of next year because of material delays; the council was told lift-station structures are on order and some on-site elements await delivery. The resolution text authorizes Mayor Darlene Taylor and Joyce Morgan, treasurer, to execute documents needed to carry out the modification.
A council member moved approval; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff circulated the resolution for signatures at the meeting so it could be submitted to the bank.
