Council also weighed the effect of nearby commercial developments, including a Walmart interior remodel and new retail outside the city, on long‑term traffic patterns. “By the time this came online and the Chick‑fil‑A was finished that Walmart would be well and passed their remodel... I don't think that would be too much of a concern,” one council member said.
After discussion and confirmation that prior public workshops and a council workshop had addressed traffic and other concerns, a motion to approve the PDD amendment received a second and passed by voice vote. Council and staff said DOT median changes (not yet final) could further improve outflow and reduce left‑turn congestion.
Next steps: the applicant will finalize signage and site details with staff and InterPlan, and staff will monitor DOT median work and coordinate required traffic improvements.
