Town Office renovation, transfer station AC, fire-truck inspection and roadwork among updates reported

At the June 2 Dresden Select Board meeting Town Administrator Nicole Rogers said the Annual Town Report had been sent to print and outlined challenges and priorities for a Town Office renovation, including potential phased work for wiring and carpeting and the use of line-item contracts to allow work as funding permits.
Billy-Joe Dupaw reported no major issues at the Transfer Station but raised concern about rising temperatures; Rogers said a replacement AC unit has been ordered. Fire Chief Darren Delano said ladder-truck inspection is scheduled for Friday, repairs to the ladder-truck air hose have been completed, and Firefighter I and II training will begin the following morning. Allan Moeller, Road Agent, said brush cutting has begun on Everson Road and will continue on Ballard and Ludwig Roads, with ditching work and completion of a culvert project planned and remaining road funds largely used for these tasks.
Nicole Rogers also updated the Board on Maine Department of Labor abatements: required paperwork has been completed and extensions requested in some cases; further information is expected following a scheduled meeting with the Department. The minutes do not record deadlines or outcomes for the abatements.
