Edisto Beach resident Bill Rieside announces run for U.S. House District 1 at Port Royal meeting

Resident Bill Rieside used the public-comment slot to introduce himself to the council and said he will file in March to run for the U.S. House representing South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. "So in March, I will be filing with the state of South Carolina to run for South Carolina Congressional District 1, Nancy Mace's seat," Rieside told the council.
Rieside said he is traveling the district to hear what issues matter to residents and that he planned to follow up with local officials. Council members thanked him for attending and encouraged him to contact local staff and representatives.
