The Port Royal Town Council recognized and swore in PFC Nicholas Curry following a promotion to corporal.
A police department presenter said Curry was recommended for early promotion, passed the required aptitude test with a 100% score, and has served on field training duties. Pastor Daniel Russell administered the oath before colleagues offered congratulations.
Deputy Chief Massey addressed the council about attending the FBI National Academy, describing the program’s selectivity and training regimen and saying the FBI covered the approximately $50,000 cost of the education for attendees. Massey framed the experience as both academically and physically rigorous and said graduates owe it to their communities to share the knowledge with their departments.
