The ceremonial recognition followed a Riverview fundraiser in which the honorary-mayor-for-a-day title was auctioned; staff also arranged tours of the police station and fire department earlier the same day. Council members presented Cata with a gavel and a key to the city and posed for photographs.
Officials said the ceremony is intended to foster civic curiosity among young residents; the council then continued with routine business.
