Council members asked about candidate vetting, background checks, the number of applicants (Kelly estimated about 20) and transitional arrangements. Council discussed costs and the potential that two salaries could overlap; Kelly and others said the overlap would be limited and Jesse Wasilowski will serve in an advisory role to ease transition.
