The Palmyra Board of Education on Aug. 13 approved superintendent-recommended personnel actions for the 2025–26 school year, including new appointments, resignations and extracurricular staffing.
The board accepted the superintendent's appointment of Alaine DiLuzio as a school counselor (salary $88,167, MA Step 16) and Amanda Rutkowski as a school counselor (salary $70,267, MA Step 8), both pending criminal-history background checks and employment paperwork. The board also approved the appointment of Devon Murtagh to the 10-month position of assistant principal at Charles Street School, effective Sept. 1, 2025, at a salary of $85,000, and listed Murtagh as CSS 504 officer and other site responsibilities in the PK–8 section of the agenda.
Support-staff appointments included Eric Waite as custodian (pro-rated salary $36,785) and Chardae Ingram as a part-time district secretary. The board approved substitute lists, extracurricular rosters, and stipend appointments for athletics and clubs for 2025–26.
The board also accepted letters of resignation from several employees: Kyra Denish (school counselor, effective Aug. 24, 2025), Meredith Tenety (secretary, effective Aug. 20, 2025), Sue Ridgway (paraprofessional, effective Aug. 31, 2025), Darian Medina (preschool teacher, effective Oct. 5, 2025) and others listed in the personnel sections. The personnel actions were approved as part of the consent agenda and recorded in the meeting minutes.
Business-office and human-resources staff will complete onboarding and background checks where required before start dates.
