The Boothbay Planning Board on May 20 approved a permit for a new recreational pier at 29 Sandy Cove Road submitted by Jonathan Hayes. The project includes a 6-by-16-foot pier, a 4-by-40-foot ramp and a 12-by-20-foot float intended for private recreational use.
Lucian Laurie Jr., the primary reviewer, presented findings of fact and moved multiple motions that the application met relevant Town of Boothbay Zoning Ordinance sections; the motions passed unanimously, 5-0. The board conditioned issuance of the Shoreland Building permit on the applicant providing a Submerged Lands Lease to the Code Enforcement Office if the construction plan includes two permanent pilings.
Representatives William Gartley and Erica Stewart of Gartley & Dorsky Engineering and Surveying described the construction dimensions for the pier and float. The minutes record the deed information for the property at the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds (Book 4231, Page 196).
