Palmyra council appoints Richard K. Dreby to vacant seat

The Borough of Palmyra council unanimously approved Resolution 2025-129 on April 21 to appoint Richard K. Dreby to fill a vacant council seat and Solicitor Rosenberg administered the oath of office. The nomination, offered by Councilmember Natashia Latimore and seconded by Councilmember Sean O’Connell, passed with Latimore, O’Connell and Jessica O’Connor voting in favor and no recorded votes against.
The appointment followed correspondence acknowledged by Municipal Clerk Doretha R. Jackson from the Palmyra Democratic Committee naming three candidates: Mare Shipton, John Turchich and Richard K. Dreby. After the formal vote, Rosenberg swore in Dreby, who took his seat on the dais.
At the council reports portion of the meeting, Dreby thanked members and residents for their support and said he is looking forward to working with the council to improve Palmyra. “I was looking forward to working with the council and making Palmyra a better place to live,” Dreby said.
The appointment fills the seat left vacant earlier this spring; the resolution and the oath were entered into the official minutes. Any future committee assignments for Dreby will be announced at upcoming council meetings.
