Round Lake board recognizes winter guard for record regional finishes

Coaches for the Round Lake guard told the board the varsity and junior-varsity programs posted record regional scores and multiple top finishes this season.
"We are very excited to be here, and these guys all had an amazing season," said Jamie Dormody, coach and director of Round Lake Guard, who described varsity and JV shows and noted both teams broke program scoring records. Angel Cardoso, a coach and alumni volunteer, detailed regional placements including a 1st-place finish at the Hersey Regional and other podium results.
Dormody and Cardoso credited a large alumni volunteer staff and strong storytelling and equipment work for the season’s success. Board members thanked the program and noted the recognition was meaningful for students and families.
The recognition was presented under the meeting’s special-recognition agenda item; no formal board action was taken. The board also announced an upcoming ribbon-cutting for upgraded baseball fields.
