Parks Director Lina Hicks told council the resolution would formalize how $15,000 already authorized by the council would be spent: $8,500 to cover barriers lining the parade route, $2,500 for overtime for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staffing. "So the funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," she said.
Council moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
