BPAC fills subcommittee chairs and names vice chair

The committee updated its leadership and subcommittee rosters at the July 9 meeting. The chair nominated Gary Schiffmiller as vice chair and Gary accepted. Chandler Moore volunteered to chair the Promotions, Education and Communications subcommittee; Andrew (Andy) Johns volunteered to chair the Policy Planning and Law subcommittee; and members volunteered to populate the Vulnerable Road Users task force and other subcommittees. Staff recorded the nominations for follow‑up and said members who were not present would be contacted to fill remaining vacancies.
Committee members discussed subcommittee roles: policy planning and law drafts resolution language and performance evaluation factors; promotions/education handles outreach and website maintenance; technical review meets often via email and coordinates with contractors; the vulnerable road users task force will collect data to assess driver accountability and potential policy changes.
What’s next: staff will confirm volunteers, publish subcommittee rosters and schedule orientation or first meetings for new chairs.
