Commission considers new rules for feather flags, approves concept of second pole sign for J&H corner

Commissioners also noted enforcement of temporary signage can be difficult and suggested zone-specific rules.
Schneider then described J&H Gas Station’s request to add a second freestanding pole sign along M37; commissioners agreed a second pole sign was appropriate for that corner location because it fronts two highways, but noted the same allowance would not be suitable for many other businesses. Schneider will draft proposed Sign Ordinance language and set a public hearing for Planning Commission review before forwarding recommendations to Council.
