The Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education used part of its Nov. 13, 2025 meeting to recognize staff and student achievements and to receive administrative reports.
Leski Wittman Insurance Agency-sponsored Staff Member of the Month awards honored Shawna Lucarelli (HS mathematics teacher) as September's staff member and Todd Hodge (CTE Construction Trades teacher) as October's staff member. Senior Zhuoran Cai was recognized as a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program and presented with a Letter of Commendation from the district and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation; the minutes also record that Zhuoran will receive a $1,000 BCSN Spotlight Scholar scholarship and be featured on BCSN between Dec. 14 and Jan. 4.
Under the Superintendent’s Report the board celebrated two teachers, Christopher Brown and Kristen Donnelly, for achieving tenure. The board accepted resignations from Heather Spagnol (IF aide) and Cheyln Welling, who is leaving the district to take a director-in-training role with the Nutrition Group. Administrative notes indicate the district's state energy audit will be released soon and maintenance staff will view a preparatory webinar. November administrative reports were posted on the district website.
Student council updates were delivered by Molly Sepulveda for the high school and Madeline Kolbe for the middle school. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by CES student council officers Ava DeSloover, Bennett Gordy and Jackson Eurenius. No public-comment speakers addressed the board during the meeting.
