Mason Consolidated Schools board adopts technology millage resolution, litigation and league resolutions and opts out of 31aa funds

The Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education adopted several resolutions and approved personnel items at its Nov. 13, 2025 meeting at Mason Senior High School Library.
In formal votes, the board approved the 2026 Technology Enhancement Millage Resolution, a PowerSchool Litigation Resolution and a Great Lakes Football League Resolution. The millage resolution was moved by Grodi and supported by Nehrig; the board recorded roll-call votes with Waller, Otting, England, Grodi and Nehrig voting yes (Fowler and Smith absent). The PowerSchool and Great Lakes Football League resolutions were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and carried by the same 5-0 margin.
The board also approved the hiring of Kelly Burnside as a bus aide at $14.85 per hour (motion by England, supported by Waller) and authorized teacher Todd Hodge to attend the Michigan Career Education Conference scheduled Jan. 25–27 in Grand Rapids (motion by Waller, supported by Grodi). All personnel motions carried 5-0.
Following a closed session, the board adopted a resolution to opt out (deny) 31aa funds; England moved to adopt and Nehrig supported the motion, which carried 5-0. The minutes record the board went into closed session under Section 8(h) and returned at 7:14 p.m.
The board recorded no public comment during the meeting. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Dec. 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mason Senior High School Library.
