The New York Mills City Council held a public hearing March 11 on an extension of the city—Property Tax Rebate Program for newly built single- and two-family homes. Mayor Hetland outlined which parcels the council considered eligible for the rebate and said the first three parcels remain from the original program while additional undeveloped lots in the Country View subdivision did not benefit from TIF pricing and therefore remain candidates for the extended program.
City Clerk Julie A. Roberts and supporting staff were recorded as present; guests noted in the minutes included Chad Koenen of NYM Dispatch and Amy Baldwin, OTC Community Development Director. The minutes state that no members of the public were present to offer questions or comments during the hearing.
With no comments or concerns brought forward, Mayor Hetland closed the public hearing; the minutes record the hearing as closed at 5:30 p.m. The minutes were signed by City Clerk Julie A. Roberts, and the meeting notes were taken and typed by Administrative Assistant Cheri Kopveiler. The record does not show a formal vote or further action at the hearing.
