The Crown Point City Council on July 6 completed second readings and adopted three ordinances that amend sections of the municipal zoning code.
Ordinance 2026‑06‑14 amends sections 150.02 and 150.54 regarding special uses and review criteria. Councilmembers moved, seconded and approved the ordinance on second reading following a roll‑call vote in which members recorded “yes.”
Council also adopted ordinance 2026‑06‑15 to amend zoning code sections 150.65–150.67 concerning zoning approvals and processes, and ordinance 2026‑06‑16 to manage section 150.27, which regulates commercial canopies. Each ordinance was presented on second reading, moved, seconded and passed following roll calls showing affirmative votes from the members present.
City staff indicated there had been no changes to the three related ordinances since their first readings. The mayor noted the ordinances address consistency in special‑use reviews and zoning criteria and will update the municipal code upon publication.
The council did not record substantive public opposition on these items during the July 6 meeting; the ordinances move to the next administrative steps required by city code.
