Tinley Park trustees approve ordinances, contracts and appointments in consent package

The Tinley Park Village Board on July 7 approved a suite of ordinances, resolutions, contracts and personnel appointments during its regularly scheduled meeting.
The board adopted the 2024 International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Fire Code and 2024 International Existing Building Code via Ordinance 2026-O-046, a measure trustee Dennis Mahoney said had been vetted at the Committee of the Whole on June 16 and was eligible for adoption. The vote was taken by roll call and the motion carried.
Other adopted items included Ordinance 2026-O-043, granting a special use and a sign exception for Sevenbrew at the Tinley Park Shopping Center; Ordinance 2026-O-044, memorializing the board's June 16 denial of a variance request for a property on 3273rd Street (the motion carried with Trustee Mueller recorded as voting "No"); and Ordinance 2026-O-042 to increase the permitted number of liquor licenses for a Class E license at Speedy Burritos, 7108 W. 171st Street.
The board approved several contracts and resolutions: Resolution 2026-R-088 to contract with ClearGov for budgeting software ($209,036.50 over three years); Resolution 2026-R-080 awarding Sewer Assessment Services LLC a $166,556 contract for inflow and infiltration investigations; Resolution 2026-R-086 to purchase a MX908 handheld mass spectrometer chemical detection system (plus training kit); and Resolution 2026-R-087, a $130,000 blanket purchase order with Air 1 Equipment for bunker gear. Trustees said most of these items had been discussed previously in committee.
Personnel and appointment votes included appointing Lisa Albano to the Planning Commission, Kathleen Lennon as receptionist (effective 07/08/2026) and Kevin Mix as systems administrator (effective 07/13/2026). The board also adopted Ordinance 2026-O-045 updating committee appointments.
All items listed on the consent agenda were approved after the clerk's roll call. Where a recorded roll call appears in the transcript (for example, the variance memorialization), the board recorded votes by trustee name; in that instance one trustee cast a recorded "No," but the motion nevertheless carried. Several measures were described on the record as having been considered previously by the Committee of the Whole.
The board adjourned into executive session at the end of the meeting to discuss ongoing criminal investigatory matters under Section 2(c)(14) and did not return to open session.
