New York Mills council accepts $15,000 Rural Capacity Program grant from CEDA

The resolution notes the city completed and submitted the grant application in November 2023 and that the award was made in February 2024; funds were presented to the city at the 2025 Civic & Commerce Community Kick-Off. Councilmember Grotheer moved to approve the resolution; Maki seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
City Clerk-Treasurer Julie Roberts said the funding and professional hours are intended to support local capacity-building work and that the city will use West Central Initiative and other partners for technical assistance where appropriate. The council did not specify immediate allocations for the $15,000 in grant dollars; further direction to staff or appropriation decisions would appear on subsequent agendas if needed.
