RDC authorizes Baker Tilly management agreement signature and approves state budget submission

At its July 8 meeting the DeKalb County Redevelopment Commission approved two administrative items: a Baker Tilly management agreement and authorization for the auditor to submit the budget packet to the state.

Commissioner Ryan Hoover moved to approve the Baker Tilly agreement and to allow Auditor Susan Sleeper to sign the document; another member seconded and the motion carried with aye votes recorded. The chair described the agreement as the same arrangement used last year, with hourly rates listed for work performed.

Later in the meeting the commission considered the packet that must be submitted to the state for accounting purposes (the chair stressed this is the state reporting budget, not the county’s operating budget). A member moved to approve the requested budget submission "as presented" and to authorize the auditor to submit it; the motion was seconded and approved with aye votes recorded.

Both approvals were procedural and did not change operating appropriations at the meeting: the Baker Tilly agreement establishes management services and client authorization to sign the contract; the budget packet approval authorizes the auditor to submit required state documentation.

Votes at the meeting were recorded as affirmative by members present; the transcript does not list a roll-call vote with individual member names and votes for each motion.
