He described a concrete pit under construction to simulate flammable liquid spills and foam‑application exercises. He said the overall project is about 70% complete of an originally appropriated $350,000 and that roughly $153,000 remains to acquire two final trailers: a high‑pressure trailer (used for LP and ammonia) and a low‑pressure gasoline trailer.
Members asked about procurement options if the county needs to use online auction sites to acquire those trailers; one member volunteered to check potential sources and another offered to route inquiries through work contacts, and staff agreed to continue outreach with prospective sellers. Doug thanked OmniSource and a local trucking company for assistance with the rail car’s decommissioning and transport.
