Council hears concerns about EACC cameras with audio and who will access recordings

Council member Jan Hensley said she wanted council to be provided with trespass orders and other facility files when issued and raised a related concern about funds from parks and recreation being used to purchase EACC equipment. EACC Manager Heather Kite said she had personally inspected the rooms and taken photographs documenting her findings; she also said WaWa would hold job interviews and orientation at the EACC.
No new policy for audio access or fund use was adopted at the work session. Council member Rachel Michael said she trusted staff to handle operational matters and suggested staff and the manager work through any disputes; Hensley said she might bring items back to council if staff review did not resolve them.
Next steps: Staff to continue processing EACC equipment orders and to provide documentation if council requests further review; any policy changes regarding camera audio access or funding would require future council action.
