Mayor Mary Bess Smith and council members Paige Ware, Pam Binns, Ed Bordett, Barry Rakes and Clay Fitzgerald voted yes; there were no no votes or abstentions.
The budget provides the town’s spending plan for the coming fiscal year and governs routine services and water/sewer operations. The council handled the budget motion as part of regular business and did not attach additional conditions to the adoption.
Council business that evening also included routine financial approvals and project updates. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department meeting room.
