Allamakee County board authorizes $1.2 million grant application for hospital MRI

The motion (26.076) was made by Supervisor Keatley and seconded by Supervisor Byrnes; roll call was Keatley—aye, Byrnes—aye; Supervisor Clark was absent.
The resolution directs county staff and UERPC personnel to submit the application under the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Community Facilities program and names Allamakee County as the applicant and pass-through agency. The board adopted the resolution after presenters said the originally proposed Community Project Fund project was changed because its timing did not align with available funds; the application was revised to target the MRI replacement.
Rachelle Howe and Michael Coyle presented the revised application to the board. The resolution specifies an application amount of $1,198,937 and authorizes appropriate staff to file the request before the February 27, 2026 submission deadline.
By approving the resolution, the board established the county’s formal support for the hospital’s Community Project Fund request and delegated administrative submittal to county and UERPC staff. The board did not record any dissenting votes on the motion; one supervisor was absent.
