Mayor Jamie Heard told the council he had met with Chattahoochee Humane Society board members about upgrades to increase animal spaces. He said the City of Valley agreed to allow its employees to perform the upgrades. To help cover the cost, Lanett would be asked to pay $25,000, or $33,000 if the City of Lafayette does not participate.
Councilmembers agreed to have the city attorney review the proposed agreement; no formal commitment or intergovernmental contract was executed at the work session. The minutes record that the city attorney would look at the agreement, which is the only procedural step captured in the meeting record.
