The Village of Warrens Plan Commission voted 4-0 on April 23 to recommend amendments to Chapter 13 of the village zoning ordinance that govern campgrounds and to forward the proposed language to the Village Board.
Vice Chair T. Swope reviewed the proposed changes, noting minor revisions to the CRC zoning chart and updates to Section 5.8 addressing Campgrounds, Campground Resorts, and Recreational Camping Areas. The record states that no substantive changes were made to the proposed language during discussion. Members of the public and representatives of local campgrounds attended in person and via Zoom.
Plan Commission member L. Schroeder moved to recommend approval of the amendments; M. Kaul seconded the motion. The motion carried by a 4-0 vote with the four present commissioners recorded as approving the recommendation. The Commission also set a public hearing on the ordinance amendments for June 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; that motion was made by M. Kaul, seconded by L. Schroeder, and carried 4-0.
The recommended amendment package will be forwarded to the Village Board for consideration and public hearing on the date set. The meeting adjourned at 5:31 p.m.
