Bland County supervisors approve transfer of 696 Main St. to economic development authority, amend FY26 calendar and appoint health official to CPMT

Bland, Va. — The Bland County Board of Supervisors on March 4 approved transferring county-owned property at 696 Main Street (Parcel #91A2-2-3A) to the Bland County Economic Development Authority and authorized County Administrator Cameron Burton to sign closing documents on the board’s behalf.
The motion to transfer the property was moved by Supervisor Keith Costello and seconded by Supervisor Stephen Kelley. A roll-call vote recorded Costello, Kelley and Chair Randy Johnson as voting “yea,” and the motion carried.
The transfer was considered during a public hearing opened and closed by Chair Randy Johnson. Tim Havens, identified in the record as chair of the Bland County Economic Development Authority, addressed the board about the deed transfer before the vote.
In other business, the board adopted an amended FY26 budget calendar. Supervisor Stephen Kelley moved and Supervisor Keith Costello seconded the motion to adopt the amended calendar; the board set a work session for April 25 at 4:00 p.m. The motion carried.
The board also moved to appoint Mary Anne Hall, described in the record as being “of the Virginia Department of Health,” to the Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT). The motion to appoint Hall was made by Supervisor Stephen Kelley and seconded by Supervisor Keith Costello and was recorded as carried.
The meeting opened at 4:30 p.m. with the pledge led by Chair Randy Johnson and an invocation offered by County Administrator Cameron Burton. The session concluded after a motion to adjourn carried on a second by Supervisor Stephen Kelley.
The board listed Supervisors Keith Costello, Randy Johnson and Stephen Kelley as present; Supervisor Patrick Groseclose was absent. Also present were County Administrator Cameron Burton, County Attorney Paul Cassell and Administrative Assistant Dena Monroe.
Next procedural steps: the county administrator was authorized to execute documents necessary for the 696 Main Street transfer; the board will meet for a FY26 budget work session on April 25 at 4:00 p.m.
