Bland County — The Bland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Sept. 24 to re-zone Tax Map 49-A-9 to commercial after conducting a public hearing that generated no public comment.
Supervisor Stephen Kelley moved to re-zone the parcel to commercial; Supervisor Randy Johnson seconded the motion. The board recorded a 4–0 roll call vote in favor (Kelley, Johnson, Groseclose and Chairman Keith Costello).
Chairman Keith Costello had opened and closed the public hearing earlier in the meeting after no members of the public signed up to speak. The transcript shows no debate on the substance of the re-zoning during the hearing.
The vote completes the board’s formal action on this specific zoning petition on Sept. 24. The board recessed the meeting until Oct. 9, 2024.
