The Oxford City Council voted unanimously April 8 to approve the city’s FY 2026 budget and to change City Hall public hours.
Councilmember Jim Hennes moved to adopt the budget and Councilmember Cooling seconded; the motion passed on an all-ayes vote. The council also approved the clerk’s report during the same motion sequence.
Under the new schedule, City Hall will be open to the public Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and closed to the public on Fridays while staff work remotely; phone service will be routed to the clerk on Fridays. Councilmember Cooling said he was not enthusiastic about remote Friday hours, while Reihman noted the clerk is completing required work despite the changed schedule.
The clerk presented the accounts-payable list for April, showing a total of $97,601.31, including an annual insurance payment to EMC Insurance for $74,443. The council did not change or withhold any listed payments.
Minutes from this meeting are not official until approved at a subsequent council meeting.
