Braddock District Council reports $4,820 balance, 20 paid member associations and plans bylaws review

The Braddock District Council reviewed financial and membership reports at its Nov. 15 business meeting. Treasurer figures showed a Truist Bank balance of $4,820.03 as of Oct. 31, 2023, with October dues of $175 and total dues received to date of $1,100, the council heard.
Council Chair Bob Cosgriff said membership has declined from 24 paid associations last year to 20 as of the meeting and encouraged members to recruit neighborhood associations. He raised options for changing the dues cycle (calendar year versus fiscal year) and asked for suggestions on reminders and timing.
Cosgriff also noted the council’s bylaws, adopted in 2006, need updating and asked for volunteers to serve on a committee to draft changes. Members were asked to submit suggested revisions to the Executive Committee by the Jan. 17, 2024 meeting. The Executive Committee recently selected winners for the Best of Braddock Awards, which will be presented Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kings Park Library meeting room.
No formal motions or votes were recorded in the minutes for these items; the reports were informational and the bylaws review will be handled by an Ex Comm committee.
