Boyce council approves minutes, signs off on small tax write-off and sets next meetings

At its Feb. 4 meeting the Boyce Town Council approved the minutes from its Jan. 14 meeting and approved a small personal property tax write-off.
A motion by Floyd Hudson to approve the Jan. 14 minutes was seconded by Carol Coffelt and passed 4-0-1; Dennis Hall abstained because he was not present at the prior meeting. Later, Councilor Berkeley Reynolds moved to write off a 2020 personal property tax amount of $143.85; Floyd Hudson seconded and the motion passed unanimously, 6-0.
During reports, Treasurer John O'Neil reported a COVID-related balance of $24,920.90 allocated in the town accounts. The CCSA report (received via email) summarized several repairs to meters and water mains and noted all water and wastewater test results were within state and federal limits for the month and for 2024 averages. Planning Commission Chair Tracey Brown reported no business after a weather-related cancellation; Board of Supervisors representative Bev McKay was not present.
The council scheduled a work session for Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6:00 p.m. and set the next regular meeting for March 4 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
