Treasurer John O'Neil told the Boyce Town Council on Oct. 1 that he has located roughly $10,000 in accounts where payments had been made but were not applied to invoices.
O'Neil said staff are working to determine how to produce the town's new tax bills going forward so account balances reflect payments correctly. Councilmember Floyd Hudson asked for clarification about the remaining balance for a resident who consistently makes monthly payments.
No dollar amounts beyond the approximate $10,000 figure were provided for individual accounts, and the council did not take a vote on billing procedures at the meeting.
