The Lynn Township Historical Society presented a proposed 3,760‑square‑foot building for Ontelaunee Park at the Nov. 13 Board of Supervisors meeting, and the board voted to advertise a public workshop for Dec. 6 to review the plan and select a site.
Pharon Metzger introduced Chris Brown of Brown Design Group, who described a building composed of a 2,800‑square‑foot exhibit hall, a 16‑by‑30‑foot air‑conditioned meeting room and a 16‑by‑30‑foot climate‑controlled artifact collection room. The presentation noted there are currently no plans for restrooms, raised potential water and electrical needs (a 200‑amp service was suggested), and said ADA‑accessible parking would be required.
Supervisor Frederick Najarian moved (seconded by Ronald Jerdon) to advertise a public workshop to be held in Ontelaunee Park on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 at 8 a.m. to approve the building plan and decide on a site; the motion carried unanimously.
Board members thanked Mr. Brown for the presentation and noted that concerns—water, electric service, ADA parking and the lack of restrooms—would be addressed at the public workshop. The township did not record a preferred site or a funding plan for construction during the meeting.
The public workshop will be the board's next formal step for public vetting of the project.
