Ridgway approves IGA to share cost of regional Affordable Housing Services Administrator

The Ridgway Town Council voted Oct. 9 to approve a draft intergovernmental agreement with the City of Ouray and Ouray County to establish and share the cost of an Affordable Housing Services Administrator.
Town Manager Preston Neill presented the draft IGA and asked Council for approval and direction to staff to meet with the City and County attorneys about several non-substantive changes. County Commissioner Jake Niece commented during the discussion. Councilmember Lakin moved to approve the IGA; Councilor Kroger seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The Council also directed staff to meet with the City and County to "clean up any non-substantive changes," per a subsequent motion.
The agreement is intended to formalize cost-sharing for a regional position to administer affordable-housing services. The IGA as described at the Oct. 9 meeting included remaining editorial items to resolve with partner jurisdictions' counsel; Council approval authorizes proceeding to those attorney-level discussions and to finalize the arrangement.
