The Long Beach Island Board of Education approved a set of routine annual compliance and planning items at its Oct. 21 meeting. The board acknowledged completion of the first required school bus evacuation drill for 2025–2026 (Oct. 6) in compliance with N.J.A.C. 6:21-11.3 and approved the district’s 2025–2026 Safety and Security Plan and Nursing Services Plan.
The board also approved submission of the School Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act for July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 for both the Ethel Jacobsen School and the Long Beach Island Grade School, and approved the Annual Maintenance Worksheet (M-1) and the district’s three-year comprehensive maintenance plan for 2025–2026. The board approved joining cooperative pricing through the Camden County Educational Services Commission for 2025–2026 (no fee to join).
In the same section the board moved and approved Board of Education Goals for 2025–2026 emphasizing enhanced student learning, planning for the future and teamwork/community collaboration. The minutes also show acceptance of the HIB report as presented in executive session and approval of the Student Safety Data System Period 2 report for Jan. 1–June 30, 2025.
