The Diamondville Town Council approved a set of new-business items at its March 16 meeting, including a commercial special-use permit for an undercarriage vehicle wash, equipment purchases for the Diamondville Car Wash, bid advertising for a Street Department vehicle, authorization for a semiquincentennial grant contract, and a letter to WYDOT seeking signage changes along Highway 30.
Councilmember Casey Clark moved to approve a special use in the commercial zone permitting an undercarriage vehicle wash at 77 Highway 30/189; Councilmember Robert Sawaya seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously to approve the permit.
Clark then moved to approve purchases to replace coin and credit-card receptacles located in each bay of the Diamondville Car Wash for $12,655.25 and to replace the coin change machine located outside the car wash for $4,400.00. Councilmember Sherrol Sloan seconded; the motion carried with all voting members recorded as in favor.
Councilmember Sawaya moved and Councilmember Sherrol Sloan seconded a motion to advertise for bids for a new Street Department vehicle; the motion passed unanimously.
Sawaya moved to approve the contract between Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources and the Town of Diamondville for a Semiquincentennial Grant and authorized Mayor Eric Backman to sign the contract; the council voted aye on the motion. In a separate motion, Sawaya moved and Sloan seconded approval of a drafted letter to the WYDOT engineer requesting signage changes along Highway 30 to improve communication to truck and semi traffic; that motion also passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved disbursements while removing a payment to Evanston Clinic for further review. No public comments were recorded. The meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
