River Ridge board accepts resignation of Seat 1 member, outlines appointment process

The River Ridge CDD Board accepted the resignation of James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through Nov. 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the Board voted to accept it on a motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly. Because this is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an election, the Board asked Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to e‑blast residents with information about the vacancy and candidate qualification requirements and to request resumes or letters of interest ahead of the next meeting.
The Board noted that the administration of the Oath of Office and mandatory ethics training and disclosure filing (including sample Form 1, Guide to Sunshine and Form 8B conflict forms) will be provided in a future package; those items were deferred. Mrs. Adams said she had been told a resident friend would submit a resume, which she will include on the next agenda.
The Board’s acceptance of the resignation came with unanimous approval and staff will include candidate submissions in the packet for the next meeting, when the Board expects to consider an appointment.
