Harrison County commissioners voted 4–0 to approve consolidated returns from the Nov. 5, 2024 general election and to adopt a resolution canvassing returns and declaring the results of a special election to create Harrison County Assistance District No. 1.
Elections official Ahmed told the court the consolidated returns would be included in the official exhibits and that attorneys provided specific language for documenting the special-election canvass. Ahmed said election operations “went very well,” praising poll workers and reporting minimal equipment failures and conflicts. He estimated turnout at roughly “60.2 or 62” percent and said he would verify the exact figure.
The court moved to approve the consolidated returns and then separately approved the resolution canvassing the special-election results; both motions carried unanimously. The clerk will forward the completed statements and affidavits to the appropriate state offices and file the resolution reflecting creation of Harrison County Assistance District No. 1.
