Harrison County approves no-through-trucks order for Davidson Road

The court opened the hearing at 9:15 a.m., and Road & Bridge official Davis said the county has completed most of a long rehab program on Davidson Road and has “a little over a mile stretch left to chip seal,” adding that the restriction is intended to “help save the life of the road in the long run.” The chair clarified that the restriction would not prevent property owners on Davidson Road from accessing their property.
Commissioner Hatfield moved to adopt the order, Commissioner Malden seconded, and the motion passed on a recorded voice vote of 4–0. The order is recorded as No. 2425 in county records.
Why it matters: restricting through-truck traffic aims to extend the life of the chip-seal surface on the final unrepaired stretch and reduce maintenance costs for Harrison County. Road staff said exemptions would remain for trucks with business or work on the road.
