Washington reiterates spring road weight limit and seasonal notices

Ordinance #93:011 was cited: except where Section V provides otherwise, it is unlawful to operate a motor vehicle weighing more than six tons on any Limited Weight Street or Highway from March 1 or as deemed necessary. The Road Agent may issue a special permit for vehicles over six tons only after consulting with the Select Board and determining the vehicle will not cause unusual damage to the highway. Exceptions in the ordinance include occasional delivery vehicles servicing residences and permitted businesses transporting empty vehicles to and from N.H. Route 31 and N.H. Route 10.
The minutes also reminded residents that mud season is ongoing and urged caution on town roads. Administrative reminders included the Town Clerk's extended hours on the last Wednesday of the month beginning April 22, 2026; the April 30 dog-licensing deadline; and the requirement that renters obtain burn permits for short-term rentals (rather than owners).
