The Town of Washington Zoning Board of Adjustments unanimously elected Andrew Hatch as its chair and approved Gary Carney as vice chair during a meeting on March 25, 2026.
Gary Carney moved to approve Andrew Hatch as chair; Joe Shea seconded and the motion passed with all members in favor. Immediately afterward, Andrew Hatch moved to approve Gary Carney as vice chair, a motion Joe Shea also seconded; that motion likewise carried unanimously. Roll call earlier in the meeting confirmed attendance by Carney, Joe Tapp, Andrew Hatch, Paul Leischner and Joe Shea.
Before the leadership votes, the board approved the continuation minutes. Andrew Hatch made the motion to accept the minutes as written; Joe Tapp seconded and all were in favor. The meeting proceeded to a scheduled discussion with the board's attorney and then to routine adjournment.
The leadership changes take effect immediately for board business; no contested or divided votes were recorded in the minutes. The meeting record shows the board moved into a nonpublic session later that evening to discuss a conversation with Attorney Serge; the minutes do not disclose the substance of that session.
The board adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
