Webster commissioners approve routine business, hire municipal attorneys and appoint planning board member

The Town of Webster Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a series of routine motions at its Jan. 7, 2026, business meeting, including hiring municipal attorneys and appointing a Planning Board member.

Mayor Leigh Anne Young called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and commissioners first approved the amended agenda following a motion by Commissioner Sara Stahlman and a second from Commissioner Brandon Core. The board then approved the Dec. 3, 2025 meeting minutes on a motion by Commissioner Dale Collins, seconded by Commissioner Brad Reisinger.

The board reviewed November and December financial reports (November revenues $9,576.99; expenses $4,768.47; December revenues $53,983.38; expenses $7,785.97) and approved the consent agendas for those months.

On a motion by Commissioner Brandon Core, seconded by Commissioner Dale Collins, the board approved a proposed contract to retain Brian Gulden and Taylor Osborne of Van Winkle Law Firm as municipal attorneys.

Mayor Young nominated Daniel Riggs to fill a Planning Board vacancy caused by the departure of Chris Cox. After nominations were closed, the board unanimously appointed Riggs following a motion by Commissioner Core and a second from Commissioner Sara Stahlman.

Commissioner Sara Stahlman moved to purchase an external hard drive for town data storage not to exceed $150; Commissioner Dale Collins seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. The board set its next regular business meeting for Feb. 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Webster Town Hall.
