Webster plans $50/hour pay for Halloween deputies; full county raise to take effect July 1, 2026

Mayor Tracy Rodes told the Board on Oct. 1 that pay for officers patrolling in Webster for Halloween will be $50 per hour, up from the previous $25 per hour rate. She said the town adopted its fiscal-year budget earlier and that the Sheriff's office has agreed to delay implementing the $50-per-hour rate for broader patrol coverage until July 1, 2026. The Halloween patrol officers—Jamie Ashe and Josh Pollack—will receive the $50/hour rate for three hours each on Oct. 31, with instructions at Town Hall at 5 p.m. and patrols from 5:15–8:15 p.m.
The mayor also reported personnel changes affecting regular traffic patrols: Deputies Robert Porter and Matt Hawkins have been promoted and will no longer patrol Webster. Matt Hawkins will remain the town's main contact and will oversee new deputies Mark Junaluska and Samuel Plaster, who will assume patrol duties for Webster. Town Clerk Stephanie Gibson will meet with the new deputies to complete W-9 forms and other onboarding paperwork.
