Summary
During public comment, resident Denise DiTeodoro told the committee she was concerned that a proposed wet-waste facility in Salem City would bring heavy truck traffic through Mannington and raised safety concerns on Route 45; Deputy Mayor Eber said he would have voted against the project had he attended the March 31 hearing.

During the public-comment period at the April 3 Mannington Township Committee meeting, resident Denise (Dee) DiTeodoro of 400 Route 45 urged officials to be cautious about a proposed wet-waste facility in nearby Salem City, saying she feared heavy truck traffic along Route 45 and noting that people already drive at excessive speeds on that road.
DiTeodoro also asked whether the township's Planning Board had received any applications for a solar farm; Mayor Asay reported that no solar-farm application had been submitted to the Planning Board at this time.
Deputy Mayor Eber told DiTeodoro he had not attended the March 31 meeting in Salem City but said that, had he been present, he would have voted against the wet-waste facility. No formal township action or vote on the facility was recorded at the April 3 meeting.
The public comment closed after the exchange. The Planning Board and any county or regional permitting agencies would be the bodies to file formal applications and take regulatory action on such facilities.
