Warner officials report Primex reimbursements for highway garage costs; Emergency Operations Plan update underway

At the June 23 Select Board meeting, staff reported progress on highway-garage repairs and related insurance claims and described ongoing emergency-planning work.
Herm Blanchette said he received a contract from InsureCom and had forwarded it to the town attorney and Primex; he reported Warner's dump trucks remain under repair and that Primex is covering rental costs while repairs continue. Clyde Carson told the board Primex had notified subscribers of a 2025 unemployment and workers' compensation surplus and that Warner's share is roughly $2,800, which could be applied to next year's premium or sent as a reimbursement check. Carson also said receipts for highway-garage-related work had been submitted to Primex's claims department totaling $34,000.
Ed Mical, Warner's Director of Emergency Management, briefed the board on the town's emergency-management organization (Town Hall as the designated Emergency Operations Center; Warner Church as a small warming center) and described work on the Hazard Mitigation Plan and an Emergency Operations Plan update. Mical said the Hazard Mitigation Plan will next be scheduled for 2029 and that staff expect the current EOP update and a Continuity of Operations Plan update to be completed by late July or early August; he noted the Emergency Management team includes police, fire, DPW, Warner Water Precinct, the school district, volunteers and Select Board office staff, and that additional volunteers would be needed for an extended event.
Select Board members thanked staff for the updates; no formal votes were taken on insurance or emergency-management items at this meeting.
