Committee members reviewed Bayland’s preliminary plans for a library renovation and discussed whether to show the plans to the donor before proceeding; staff recommended a donor meeting because donor support is critical to the project’s feasibility.
Staff noted the plans show limited exterior changes, possible alternate bids for window replacement and interior mechanical/electrical/plumbing work to be developed with the MEP consultant. Members agreed to meet with the donor and bring the matter back to committee for further direction.
Separately, the committee approved allocating the remaining $500 in the CDC/CEC grant fund to Friends of Annecy State Trail to cover increased costs after required reengineering and higher concrete costs; the group also announced a ribbon‑cutting event Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. at the corner of 6th and Perry (rain location: adjacent boat club). The motion to allocate $500 passed on roll call.
Parks & Rec reported the sale of a 2000 GMC 2500 pickup used for flower work through the Wisconsin Surplus Auction; the committee moved and approved the sale. Staff said plow and cap would go with the truck and that proceeds would be remitted to the city after the auction vendor collects buyer fees.
Quote: a committee member described the trailhead event as a community celebration: "Gather as a community to celebrate our fresh and welcoming gateway to one of the most precious outdoor spaces."
What’s next: staff will meet with the library donor and return to committee with donor feedback; the trailhead ribbon‑cutting is scheduled for Oct. 1 and the truck sale will be finalized by the auction vendor.
